Services

Maybe you have a much-loved tree which you think may benefit from some well judged pruning, maybe your tree has one or two problem branches that are causing concern, or maybe your tree has simply reached the end of its healthy lifespan and needs to be removed safely. Whatever the situation, give us a call or send us an email, tell us about your trees and we can provide you with a solution.

Tree Pruning

Having trees around your home can be a wonderful thing but can also be problematic and even dangerous. While many of us love living in a leafy setting, the fact is that trees in urban environments need to be managed.

The reasons for pruning a tree can include dead or damaged branches, over weighted limbs, branches rubbing against a building, or a desire for increased light.

Pruning a tree correctly can be a fine balance, with good understanding of proper pruning techniques required to achieve a good result. While taking too little will leave you with the same problems as were there before, taking too much can put the tree into stress or cause structural imbalance, creating further problems.

By using proper techniques, we can work with you to provide you with the result you are after, while carefully maintaining the tree's health and its natural form and appearance.

Tree Removals

As with tree pruning, there can be many reasons for removing a tree. It could be that the tree is causing an obstruction, is dead or in declining health, or it could be a weed species.

By their nature, tree removals are often hazardous and complex to undertake. Various factors influence how they behave when they are cut by a saw or loaded with weight. It is therefore essential that when the time comes for your tree to be removed, it is done by the right professionals with the appropriate skills and experience.

Our work as arborists often involves removing trees which are large, complex, and in many cases with poor access or in confined spaces. Often the trees are in poor health, are dead, or have pre-existing structural damage.

Whatever the circumstances of your tree, give us a call and we can guarantee that with us your tree will be removed safely and properly, with no resulting damage to the surrounding area.

Land Clearing

When left unmanaged, gardens can become overgrown, unruly, or be taken over by weeds. In such cases the best approach can be to clear everything and start again.

It could be that your property adjoins directly onto dense bushland and you want to create a firebreak to protect yourself and your property from the threat of bushfires.

Whatever the situation, if a full land clear is what you're after, our arborists can get it done for you, leaving you with the open space that you need.

Tree Inspections

You may be looking at a cavity or an apparent structural defect in your tree and want a proper inspection and a professional opinion. A defect in a tree does not necessarily mean it poses a risk, but it can be worth having it looked at properly to assess what should or shouldn't be done.

While trees do have their own natural method of dealing with damage, known as "CODIT" (Compartmentalisation Of Decay In Trees), it is not uncommon that a particular area of damage or decay becomes too much, leaving the tree at risk of failure.

If you are concerned about your tree and believe it may benefit from an aerial inspection, or even a full arborist's report, our arborists can assist you.

Emergency Tree Services

When storms hit, chaos can ensue, with large tree limbs or even whole trees strewn across driveways or roofs or suspended against houses. Such situations can lead to some particularly technical problems for arborists to deal with. Unconventional rigging techniques, often including the use of surrounding trees, and sometimes, if possible, the use of cranes or other machinery, are commonly used to deal with emergency tree work resulting from storms.

Over the years we have answered many isolated emergency call-outs and have been involved in several wider emergency cleanups, using our expertise to deal with a variety of unusual situations. Whether you are an insurance company, an individual or another type of business, if you are faced with any type of tree emergency and require assistance do not hesitate to contact us.

Stump Grinding

As the client, when you have a tree removed by us you will generally have two options. The first is for the tree to be cut to ground level, in which case it may be poisoned, and the second is to have the stump ground.

Depending on the size of the stump, the location, and the area around it, you may be content with a chainsaw cut at ground level. Very often however, you may decide that you would prefer to have the stump removed completely. This is done by a process called stump grinding.

Stump grinding is done with a large machine which essentially turns the stump and its major roots into mulch. This will leave you with usable ground which you can use for building, landscaping or even planting another tree if desired.

If you are having us remove a tree for you and you would like the stump removed as well, let us know and we can

get it done for you.
